This floodgate on Tamagawa River is built in March 1928 based on the canal and harbor project plan drawn up at that time. Its top section was designed with art deco that resembles grapes, pears, and peaches harvested locally.

Twenty-five traditional private houses were built between 200 to 300 years ago in Eastern Japan have been moved to this open-air museum. These houses have been designated as an important national cultural asset, offer hands-on experience and learning workshops.
Tokaido Kawasaki Shuku Koryukan
Kawasaki Post was established in 1623 as a post station for the Fifty-three Stages of the Tokaido. At this exhibition one can experience the history and townscape of Kawasaki, by viewing images and movies as well as miniatures. As the resting spot for those enjoying a walk through the town, the meeting rooms are used as a gathering place for the local area and Kawasaki citizens.
The poem written by Basho Matsuo when he parted with his disciples in 1694 is carved on this monument.
This monument is dedicated in memory of the poet and author Kanoko Okamoto, mother of Taro Okamoto. This monument is the work of Taro Okamoto. The pedestal was designed by Kenzo Tange.
